Have you Submitted Your Tax Return?
The deadline for filing your Self Assessment tax return for the period ended 5 April 2010 is 31 January 2011 – now only a short time away. It’s important to remember that returns can now only be filed online - the deadline for paper filing was 31 October 2010! Failure to submit on time could land you with a fine of £100 or worse.
31 January 2011 also marks the deadline for tax payments. Any tax still owing for the 2009/10 tax year will be payable as will the first payments on account for the 2010/11 tax year. Again penalties and interest can apply to late payments.
